Exclude a line from the payment step

Not every line on an offer is paid through the platform. An item invoiced separately, covered by a supplier, or already settled by the customer can be recorded on the offer without being charged.

Who does this. Whoever prices the line, so an installer pricing on site can set it too. On a product, only the organisation that owns the product.

The switch that does this is Exclude from payment step. A line with it on is marked as paid externally, and carries the External badge on the offer. The line still describes the job. Only its money stays outside the platform.

How a line becomes external

Two places set it:

• On a product: turn on Exclude from payment step, and every line from that product is excluded.
• On a single offer line: the same switch appears while you are pricing the line.

The switch carries a warning, because the effect is real. The line is not paid in the payment step. The offer marks it as paid externally.

An offer where every line is excluded shows the payment status External only.

Where you still see the money

An excluded line stays on the offer and in the order totals, so the job reads correctly. It does not reach the customer invoice Installer.com issues, because that invoice covers only what was paid through the platform. Nor does it reach your payout. Payout share counts only what moved through Installer.com. Your share includes externally paid items. That is why the two figures differ on an order with an excluded line.

Reconciling them

Nothing about an excluded line is settled for you. You invoice, chase and record it in your own systems. The platform’s role is limited to noting that the line exists and that it is not its to collect.

If you credit an excluded line later, the credit is recorded for your books and no refund is sent.
